Michael Heppner, Czech Torah Network Board Member and Research Director of the Memorial Scrolls Trust, Visits Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles, California- October 2005 - Michael Heppner, Czech Torah Network Board member and Research Director of the Memorial Scrolls Trust, visited Los Angeles, California, October 2005. The purpose of his visit was to meet with congregations in the Southern California area to educate and inspire them in researching the origin of their scrolls.

He brought his knowledge and experience in the research of his own congregation's scroll from the town of Kolin, a city in the Czech Republic in close proximity to Prague. He lectured at University Synagogue in Westwood and Ahaval Shalom in Northridge. Like his congregation in the United Kingdom, Norwood and Pinner Liberal, these synagogues also possess scrolls originating from Kolin. His slide presentation chronicled his own journey into learning about the Jews of this town.
